1. What happens after I complete the purchase online?

We will either email you or send the forms necessary to set up the unit to you. You then return the forms to us via fax or U.S. Mail. NEVER send credit or debit card information via an email! Once we receive your forms, we will activate and test the unit here before shipping. Once the unit is shipped, an email will verify that it is on its way. Once your receive the unit, charge it and then test it. Contact us with any questions.

When you press and hold the call button, you are connected with a trained call center specialist. You can speak with and listen to the specialist through the powerful built-in microphone and speaker. 5. Does it work in the shower?

Yes, it can be used in the shower. However, it is not designed to be submerged in water.

6. Who can I contact with it?

When you press the call button, you will be connected with a call center specialist. The specialist can send EMS, relatives or friends to you, depending on what is needed.

7. How long does the battery last?

The rechargeable battery lasts up to 30 days between charging but you should charge whenever you have the chance.

8. How do I know when the battery is low?

You and your loved ones can receive text message and email alerts when unit needs to be charged and powers off. You may also receive a phone call from a specialist when the  battery is low. It should be charged for 3 hours every 30 days. The red low battery light will flash every half second after a call when the battery is low.

9. How do I charge it?

Rest the unit on the included charging cradle with the unit's lanyard at the top of the cradle near the charging cord and the status lights down near the light on the bottom of the cradle. The red cradle battery light will stay red while unit is charging. When the unit is fully charged, the low battery light will be solid red.

10. How do I know it is working?

When it is on and working normally, the blue call light will flash every 5 seconds after a call (until the device goes into standby mode) or if charging, and the battery light will not be on.

11. Can caregivers call into it?

Caregivers cannot call mPERS devices because they are off until the call button is pressed, to conserve battery. Users can press the button and ask the call center specialist to call a caregiver, neighbor or relative in a non-emergency situation.

12. What if I press the button by accident?

If you press the button by accident, simply tell the specialist that you did not intend to press the button and that no help is needed.

13. Will it interfere with my medical equipment?

The mPERS unit is essentially a cell phone. If you have a pacemaker, review your pacemaker materials regarding interaction with cell phones, and take the same precautions the materials recommend with this device.

14. How often should I test it?

It is recommended that you test the unit once a month.

  • To test, press the call button until call light turns blue.
  • After a short delay, you will hear tones or ringing.
  • The Specialist answers your call.
  • Tell specialist you are testing
